Windchill Legacy Benna Ford

Benna Ford is proud to support The Windchill Legacy LTD. This is a resource to stop equine abuse and neglect.

The program began when a nine-month-old colt named Windchill was rescued in February of 2008. The colt was found starved, frozen to the ground and barely alive. After the colt’s rescue, he was brought back to life, regaining strength and weight. However, do to the exposure, there was damage to his organs and he was able to survive twenty days before the colt’s death.

This organization is dedicated towards rescue of these neglected and abused horses. They do so through their mission through three focus areas:

educate children and others on proper animal care through our Educational Outreaches.
work with state legislators to improve and clarify animal abuse and neglect state statutes.
work closely with other non-profits and individuals to provide financial support for animals in need on a case-by-case basis.

For the work that they do, Benna Ford provides a Transit Connect van as a support vehicle for their efforts. The vehicle is provided in partnership with the National Bank of Commerce.
